![]() However, attention started to get pulled away from them after the British Invasion that is known as One Direction. I fully loved those boys more than anything. From 2009 to 2012, BTR really was that bitch. ![]() BTR toured multiple times with a world tour. The movie is hella cheesy and very cliche, but I think that’s what makes it a perfect movie for preteens. The TV show was so successful that they even made a movie in 2012 called “Big Time Movie,” which capitalized on the popularity of British culture during that time. Or if you were like me, you loved them all equally (but Logan could get it and still can). All together, the boy band had a boy (virtually) for someone. He was the smarts, the romantic one, the one who always led with logic and the voice of reason in the group. Logan wants to be a doctor, which made teen Lexi swoon. Last, but certainly not least, is Logan - he’s the brains. He’s known for constantly wearing his hockey helmet, creating chaos, eating corn dogs and going with the flow (aka AN UNPROBLEMATIC KING WE ARE OBLIGATED TO STAN). He is, honestly, branded as self-absorbed, he loves girls, he has a great sense of style (for the early 2010s) and he is the one who has the hunger for being famous. He was the one who pushed the formation of BTR, he is the one who voices the boys’ thoughts and opinions. ![]() Each boy seemed to cater to a certain “girl archetype.” Let me delve into this more. Within the first episode, we are introduced to all four boys and the personalities they have along with other supporting characters. Kendall then rejects Gustavo’s proposal and demands that he takes all four boys, thus forming Big Time Rush (BTR). Pretty boy James says that he wants to go to the audition and be a famous singer, however, Gustavo doesn’t like his audition, but loves leader Kendall’s accidental audition. Suddenly, it is announced that big-time music producer Gustavo Rocque of Rocque Records is coming and holding auditions to find his next star. The pilot opens up with four boys who all play ice hockey in small-town Minnesota together. So my question is, why did everyone sleep on Big Time Rush?īig Time Rush was formed in 2009 with the start of their TV show on Nickelodeon. And how could I forget this iconic moment in music history? Am I the only one who remembers these legendary moments of the early 2010s? Why do we leave Big Time Rush out of the conversation when we talk about boy bands of our preteen and teenage years that were influential? These boys gave us immaculate four-part harmonies, iconic collaborations, memorable choreography, GUSTAVO and acting skills for days (they literally had their own TV show, available to stream on Hulu). “Any Kind of Guy.” “Worldwide.” “Boyfriend.” “Oh Yeah.” “Big Night.” I’m naming a few of the absolute SLAMMERS that Big Time Rush gave us.
